Extracurricular Activities

While the football team was dominating Detroit King on the field, student video gamers were engaged in fierce battles inside. About 100 students crowded into two dark science labs around a dozen monitors for intense battles inside school. Jessee Horton, 17, the leader of the club, credits its expansion with donations from Reddit users that allowed him to purchase additional equipment. According to him, the club provides both friendships and competition. The Tenacious Technicians placed 9th out of 39 teams at their regional FIRST Robotics competition and will compete again at Worlds. Team MIB’s hard work and dedication were recognized with a grant from Michigan Economic Development Corporation that will allow additional funding for next year’s build season, enabling the team to train more members as well as purchase additional materials for their robot.
Athletics
Cass Tech sports program instills in its students the importance of teamwork and dedication. Their athletes exemplify this with determination and excellence as proud members of the state athletic association. Over time they have won league division titles as well as participated in championship competitions; not to mention they excel both on court and field and academically!
